Gooday Bruce/Sheila, love that game and gutted I wasn't able to make it to the meeting today. But I'm sure there'll be plenty of time for games in the near future. Can't wait to get out to Argentina and leave all the distractions that take away from God's glory behind. It's gonna be great because God is with each of us and I just pray that we can show God's love to the people out there. I really hope to see yous soon and have good bant with you guys.

First Team Meeting!

Most of the La Caldera team met for the first time at Friday Night Live, the annual SAMS conference, and then again today in Holywood.  It was a great time getting to know each other, "G'day Bruce, er Sheila!!!"

For those who could not come - we missed you!  Here are a few thoughts from those who made it.

Hi! I’m Natalie Paterson, I’m 20 years old am I’m a student at Queen’s University. I’m really looking 4ward to this team, I can’t wait to start getting everything ready. Even fundraising is an exciting prospect!! I really enjoy working with young people and children and I always find it amazing how children the world over are so similar in many ways. I am hoping the language difference doesn’t cause too many difficulties, but I’m looking forward to starting and building relationships with other Christians out there. I hope also that we as a team are given the support we need from our churches and communities both in terms of prayer and donations towards the cost. Wish us luck!!

Hi, I’m Soraya. I’m in Upper 6th at Victoria College. I’ve never been on a mission trip before, so this makes the idea of going to Argentina an exciting prospect but also quite daunting at the same time. I’m looking forward to exploring the Argentinian culture and meeting different Christians over there and seeing how they worship. I hope to gain a great experience from this trip and have a great time while I’m there!

Hiya, I’m Susie Elks. This is my first overseas mission trip and I’m pretty excited, okay…very excited! This is an awesome opportunity to experience God and the church in a different culture and I can’t wait to meet new people and to
see more of God’s creation. Prayers and support would be appreciated by all of us, that God will use us to do his work and also reveal more of himself to us as we prep
are and through the people out there (and my own personal prayer request: safe travel and safety from scorpions please please!)

Hi, I am Tori. I am so excited about going to Argentina; I am really looking forward to joining in fellowship with other people, experiencing God’s presence and learning a new culture. I am nervous about learning a new language and missing my mum and dad... I can’t wait to go.

Hello, I’m Ruth. I’m really excited about going on this team to Argentina, meeting new people and sharing my faith through working with children and doing practical work in La Caldera. I’m a bit nervous about travelling so far and trying to communicate in Spanish but it will be a brilliant experience and it is a great opportunity to make a difference through our mission work.

Hello, I’m Robin. I heard about this trip from one of the
two leaders Katy P. Right now I’m a mixture of excitement and nervousness, but I think the trip will be great. I am most looking forward to meeting new people and exploring Argentina, as I’ve never been there before and seeing God work in peoples’ lives . I might need to learn a bit of Spanish before we go.
